My Art Journey

Gina Gray is a self-taught, professional abstract/mixed media artist from Jamaica, whose formal education is in the sciences, with a BSc in Pure & Applied Chemistry and a Masters in Forensic Science.

Her art journey began a few years ago, mainly in acrylic and has expanded her portfolio to include cold wax medium & oil, watercolor, hot wax (encaustic), as well as mixed media.

She prefers a modern contemporary minimalistic style, utilizing both subtle and heavy textures, as well as masking techniques.

She has participated in several US group exhibitions, between October 2019 and September 2023, both in-gallery (Ohio, California, Kansas City) and online, receiving Special Recognition Awards in three online exhibitions. Most recently, she achieved top 8 for her 3D art piece, "Blue Moon" and Special Merit for a second work of art, "Sea Dragon" in the LightSpaceTime 4th Primary Colors online exhibition.

Gina’s vision is to contribute to health and wellness through art and to help others unveil their hidden artistic talent and/or the value of art appreciation.
